ASIA MINOR. Uncertain. 2nd-3rd centuries. Tessera (Lead, 17 mm, 5.07 g, 10 h). Diademed head of Alexander the Great to right with horn of Ammon over his ear. Rev. Cult statue of Artemis Ephesia; crescent and star flanking. Gülbay & Kireç 196a-b; Vossen col. 53 = Münzzentrum Rheinland 159 (2011), 356. Cf. Gülbay & Kireç 195, 197-200 and 50-52 and Vossen col. 50-52 (for a tessera type showing the head of Alexander and a blank reverse). A well designed and attractive Ephesian tessera. The reverse a bit rough, otherwise, very fine.
